Tibetan Monks at the Jepson: Mandala Completion, De-construction, and Closing Ceremony

When: Sun., Sept. 29 2013

The final day of the residency by the Tibetan Buddhist monks of Drepung Loseling Monastery. 12pm - 1pm: Completion of the mandala sand painting. 2-3pm: The Monks begin deconstructing the mandala, and distribute some of the sand to the audience. 3pm: Monks and audience members process from the Jepson Center to the end of the Barnard Street ramp on the Savannah River,to release the remaining sand into the river to disperse the mandala’s healing energies throughout the world.
