Donovan Rypkema, a nationally respected expert on downtown revitalization and historic properties, presents ”The Art of Measuring the Immeasurable: The Economic Impacts of Historic Preservation,” as the first lecture in the 2013-14 SCAD School of Building Arts Lecture Series. Rypkema is the principal of PlaceEconomics, a firm that works with clients who are dealing with downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization and the reuse of historic structures. He is also the author of "The Economics of Historic Preservation: A Community Leader’s Guide." Rypkema was honored in 2012 with the prestigious Crowninshield Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
