I like Oglethorpe , but how about Tomochichi, Savannah may have happened without him, but maybe not as easily.

Being retired & married to a planner, we had all the essentials to weather the storm. So no need for the vehicle. We live in Pineora, so walking for goods, etc., is possible just well more than a few city blocks. More like a few miles.
We did take the opportunity to pull out the tube & fire up the atv so as to blow through a few gallons of fossil fuel reliving our youth dashing through the snow on an inner tube pulled by a 220cc open sleigh.

My dad was a contractor and remodeled and expanded the building where Morrison janitorial services was housed. While digging the foundation for the addition we found several old coins, etc. Currently GDOT is constructing the round a bout in Guyton very near where the Confederate hospital sat.

Plant a seed in a young heart/mind. $15 nor $18 million to the gov't. will solve this problem. Pouring ourselves and our time & $$ into an organization like the Dream Campaign, or creating like organizations is a great start. Wear your seatbelt then volunteer and give the $15 to an organization with a great track record for reaching our youth.
P.S. And yes I'm speaking to myself as well, as I look in the mirror to pull the plank from my eye.

Living in Guyton, I agree Charles. Miss the old Savannah, but Pooler gets my food & entertainment $$. And Hilton Head over Tybee as well for my beach time.
