The opening presentation will be given by Lauren Wenzel, the director of NOAA's National Marine Protected Areas Center in Washington, D.C. She will talk about how marine protected areas like Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary can be focal points for understanding and managing the impacts of climate change. This is part of an ongoing discussion as the Advisory Council considers how Gray’s Reef should be preparing for climate impacts and the effects these changes may have on the sanctuary.
