Argyle
Hard-hitting local indie-rockers supporting a new CD of ska, reggae and punk. Tues., 9 pm, Fiddler’s Crab House.
Bob Dylan Birthday Party
In honor of The Bard’s 66th time around the sun, this downtown tavern hosts an entire evening of both well-known and ultra-rare Dylan tracks, spun in tag-team fashion by their resident avant-garde DJ KZL and his guest DJ Procrastinator (that’s me). Thurs., 9 pm, Hang Fire.
Bottles & Cans
Fat Possum-esque Delta garage blues-rock with lots of mouth harp and attitude. Wed., 9 pm, Bay Street Blues + Thurs., 10 pm, Mercury Lounge + Sat., Gravy (formerly Sawyer’s).
Clean Record
Power trio from Statesboro playing popular rock covers from the past 3 decades. Sat., 8 pm, The Warehouse.
Crabs Are Scavengers
Disjointed and angular ultra-indie pop quartet from Knoxville that’s either an overly ambitious act with great potential (and a disinterest in commercial appeal), or a hopelessly mediocre stunt band that’s already reached the apex of their career. Interesting in an awkward way, but it can get old fast. Charming local electro-pop outfit Pink Kodiak opens. Sat., 8 pm, The Sentient Bean Coffeehouse - ALL-AGES.
Deep Blue 3
Excellent local electric blues combo with a diverse setlist of well-known standards and rarely-heard gems. Fri., 7 pm, North Beach Grill (Tybee) - ALL-AGES.

Instrumental, dance-oriented soul-jazz. Fri., 8:30 pm, Isaac’s on Drayton + Sat., 7 pm, North Beach Grill (Tybee) - ALL-AGES.

High Velocity
Kick-ass Southern and classic rock covers, plus some modern C & W hits. Wed., Fri. -Sat., 9 pm, Gilly’s (Hinesville).
Liquid Ginger Unplugged
Acoustic, cover-o-centric version of this well-liked local modern rock band. Fri., 10 pm, Jen’s & Friends.
Sarah Peacock
Hard-touring, faith-based singer/songwriter from Atlanta with a slick, modern sound. Sat., 8 pm, Guitar Bar.
Rising Appalachia
Two sisters weaned on Old-Time fiddle and banjo tunes, backed by a hand-drummer on a wild variety of backwoods percussion. They tour internationally and are very adept at their craft. Local nouveau-retro anti-folkers Lion Versus open. Tues., 8 pm, The Sentient Bean - ALL-AGES.
Savannah Soul Project
Funky, groove-oriented local collective of studio musicians, featuring Brittany Bosco. Sat., 9:30 pm, Tantra Lounge.
Shiloh
“Shock your soul rock & roll” from a longstanding N.C. punk/metal band that’s been likened to Atreyu and 18 Visions. Local newbies Inner Sinn open. Wed., 10 pm, Guitar Bar.
“Georgia Kyle” Shiver
Accomplished singer/songwriter playing folk, blues and classic country covers and originals. Thurs., 7 pm, The Quarter + Fri., 7 pm, Fannie’s On The Beach (w/Fiddlin’ Scott Holton) + Sat., 7 pm, A.J.’s Dockside (all on Tybee).
The Subliminator
A way-weird one-man act that sounds like Ken Nordine of Word Jazz fame engaged in long-distance, Was Not Was-style recording sessions with Nik Turner of Hawkwind fame (with whom he’s toured). His work melds impassioned, phantasmagorical spoken poetry with spacey, loop and delay-based sci-fi-leaning sonic soundscapes. If it sounds like your bag, it will be. Thurs., 8 pm, The Sentient Bean Coffeehouse - ALL-AGES.
