On Sunday March 12, vocalist Rebecca Flaherty will be joined by a diverse collection of musicians and vocalists at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah. The intimate showcase is open to the public, with doors opening at 3:30pm and show time at 4:00pm. For audiences ages 13 and above. Tickets $20, available at www.uusavannah.org or at the door. Wine Reception afterward in Rahn Hall. From the land of faerie mist, mighty warriors, and forty shades of green come songs of beloved heroes, righteous lady pirates, and mythical creatures that once roamed the earth. Along with Bill Smith, Judy Williams, Kelly Blackmarr Carlile, Kristin King, and Ray Williams, Rebecca Flaherty and Voice Boxx (her chorus of twenty sweet voices) will transport you to Ireland. This afternoon of music will be filled with well-loved Irish folk songs in the original Gaelic, as well as some favorites in English. You'll hear tales of a baby with a mystery father, a young daughter who has fallen in love with the shoemaker, an old man who meets an untimely death at the hands of his wife, a woman who vows to roam the earth in search of her true love, a house ghost who plays pranks on a homeowner, and more.
