Savannah is situated amongst thousands of acres of marshland and waterways, we need to find ways to make that connection to our natural environment accessible to all. Theres so many things that Savanahs done well, but access to arguably our greatest resource the magical environment that surrounds the city is difficult and requires resources (boats!) or connections that not everyone has. I hope the Tide to Town plan and/or any future park investments prioritize opportunities for connecting people to place (beyond the built environment). We are truly in a magical corner of the world.

If there ever something worth saving, it’s the the Jinx — I wish there was a way to work something out between the landlord and the owner to keep that place on ice until things are fully “back to normal” — so many of us have had magical moments of music and fellowship inside those walls. I guess by those terms it’s a holy place to a segment of the culture of Savannah. While all businesses face crazy times ahead, live music venues (and musicians) have no pathway to even keeping the lights on so to speak, I don’t have an answer but I wish there was one — thanks to all that made that place special.

Looks like we might end up with a few decent music venues here in the next few years :)

Really looking forward to someone doing a more neighborhood friendly concept in that space, seemed a little weird to have fine dining in a student housing development That being said, always had a great experience at the Florence, had an Italian uncle come visit and he still talks about what great night he had there. It's a cool space, that bar upstairs has a lot of potential

I love the idea, but let's see the city handle my water bill first :-)

Thanks for another amazing article Jessica :) Great point about Tybee being at the mouth of the Savannah. After moving to Savannah I was surprised that SRK was located in Augusta and didn't have much local representation -- that's a big step for us to get a RK here, the Savannah isn't beyond saving, our salt marshes, oysters and the natural flow of the river could turn it around quickly if we cut the pollution.

    Thanks for your tireless coverage!
