Bring your family, pack a picnic lunch (or purchase gourmet hot dogs), and enjoy a day roaming the 52 acres of beauty. Amanda McNulty, host of SC-ETV Making It Grow, will speak at 11 a.m., followed by a Plant Sale at 12 noon; Stan Gray’s iris will be blooming in all their glory; learn how to grow these beautiful plants in your yard, and about the nationally based Louisiana Iris Preservation Project; Orianne Society and T.E.R.P.S. wildlife experts will have Gopher Tortoise, Diamondback Terrapin, Indigo Snake, and more; Debbie Odom of Gene’s Nursery will talk about growing your own tea; kids activities; learn how to create an ideal backyard bird habitat and enjoy several bird exhibits; Art Exhibit and Sale hosted by Arts on the Coast, with two $500 “Sandi Beals Arts in the Garden” awards will be given to the top artists; Plein-art artists; learn how to grow Orchids from Deep South Orchid Society; Arborist, Rob Cuility, to discuss “Crepe Murder”; enjoy Shave Ice from Kona Ice; other Horticulture and Master Gardeners on site and available for your questions.
