The Best of Savannah

Best Veggie Burger

Green Truck Pub

Owned by adorable married couple Whitney and Josh Yates, Green Truck Pub has been winning awards every year since its opening in 2010. What's their secret to pulling Best Overall Restaurant four years in a row?

"We're lucky!" laughs Whitney.

Sure, it might be a little luck, but mostly it's good food in a fun atmosphere and making the most of the local resources they have.

All their beef, grass-fed and hormone-free, comes from Hunter Cattle Company in Brooklet, and they use locally-made Perc Coffee.

"A lot of our success is delivering good ingredients at everyday prices," Josh explains. "It's approachable food. People really respond to the authentic, local, farm-to-table sourcing."

Josh also credits the staff, who took home Best Wait Staff, for a big part of the restaurant's success.

If you haven't dropped by to try the food yet, getting a burger is the clear choice.

"I always suggest the Trailer Park because, to me, that's the overall favorite," Whitney says. "But I emphasize how flexible the menu is; I always get a Flathead with a veggie patty on rye."

The flexible menu is a clear perk for people with dietary restrictions, who are sure to find something they like with little modification.

"I love that you can come here and get a healthy meal, or if you wanna blow it out and get fries and a beer, that's great too," Whitney says. – Rachael Flora
