The Best of Savannah

Best Local Funk/R&B/Soul Group/Artist

A Nickel Bag of Funk

For the past decade, powerhouse vocalist and Connect cover girl Leslie Adele has led her talented band and kept funk alive in the Lowcountry. From the moment Adele was dared to go onstage and belt out Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” on Independence Day, 2005, Savannah’s never been the same: count on A Nickel Bag of Funk’s eclectic and rollicking live show to get even the shyest of wallflowers out on the floor.

Runner-up: Ambrose
