The Best of Savannah

Best Brunch

B Matthews

Anyone who has tried to grab a quick Sunday brunch at B Matthews shouldn't find it a surprise that the Bay Street joint has been awarded Best Brunch in Savannah — the line's always out the door.

The menu is diverse enough to accommodate every bruncher, and staples like the Fried Green Tomato Benedict and mimosas garnished with a strawberry are photogenic snaps for your Instagram feed.

"I think our intricate menu provides a good flavor profile," assistant general manager Brittany Canady says. "And our chefs make sure that every dish going out is quality, whether it's the beginning or end of the day."

Brittany also notes that B Matthews has seen a "massive" growth in business the past few years, coinciding with the recent designation of brunch as the cool thing to do on weekends.

Fortunately for all hungover brunchers, B Matthews has also perfected the art of the midmorning cocktail. Their mixed-moses are made with both orange and fruit juice, and their homemade bloody Mary is the perfect hair of the dog to get your day going.

From the basic breakfast to the apple, walnut and bourbon chutney waffles, even the pickiest eaters will be satisfied with the selection.

Brittany loves the shrimp and grits, but notes that they're available every day on the breakfast menu.

"If you’re looking for a weekend-only brunch food, I'd say it’s either the fried duck and waffle or the fried green tomato Benedict," she recommends.

No doubt about it, B Matthews' brunch is worth the wait. – Rachael Flora
