Fatal pedestrian-involved crash on I-95
Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a crash that fatally wounded a pedestrian on Interstate 95 the morning of May 24.
"At around 2:10 a.m., Darel Dodge, 60, was walking in the emergency lane area of southbound Interstate 95, near mile marker 105. At the same time, a light blue 2006 Honda Odyssey van was traveling south on Interstate 95. The van left the southbound travel lanes and struck Dodge, who succumbed to his injuries," police report.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey fled the scene prior to police’s arrival on scene. TIU detectives encourage anyone with information on this crash or the possible suspect to contact their office at (912) 525-2421. Tipster may also contact CrimeStoppers at (912) 234-2020.
