Kitten spray paint abuser sought

Animal Control officers from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public to help identify the prankster who spray painted a small kitten.

Officers responded to the area of Churchill and Mildred for a six-week old kitten that was painted orange. The kitten was in distress by the paint on its face and body.

"Concerned citizens stood by until Animal Control arrived and took the kitten to receive veterinary care," police say. The cat, named “Sherbet,” is under veterinary care at SCMPD Animal Control and is expected to be placed for adoption after a five-day stray hold.
