Detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and four others injured this morning.
The 12:30 a.m. shooting at the Allen Apartments on the 500 block of West 54th Street "has been determined to stem from a domestic situation, but details continue to be investigated," police say.
Randolph Scott, 28, died at the scene on the 500 block of West 54th Street. Transported to Memorial University Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life threatening wounds were Nylante Santiago, 2; Alex Collins, 8; Watea Smiley, 28; and Marisol Akin, 28.
Scott's death is the second apparent homicide of 2015 for the Savannah/Chatham Metro jurisdiction; what police are calling a "murder/suicide" occurred Jan. 1 on Tybee Island.
