Hey, you wanna count bicyclists and pedestrians?

Posted on Thu, Sep 12, 2013 at 10:07 AM

The Coastal Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (CORE MPO), Savannah Bicycle Campaign, and the City of Savannah are coordinating counts of bicyclists and pedestrians at certain times and locations throughout Savannah and Chatham County in September.

The counting happens over the course of two hours on the evenings of Sept. 24 and 26, and two hours at mid-day on Sept. 28). This aids local planning, but also contributes to national research, as part of the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project.

If you, or someone you know, are interested in volunteering, please note that volunteers can sign up for their preferred time and location through the "Doodle" page. (Or call Jane Love at 912-651-1449.)

The purpose of the Doodle “poll” is to let all potential volunteers see which times and locations already have coverage and which ones still need coverage. Select no more than one location per time period.

(If someone has already put a check mark at your preferred slot, consider covering one of the other options.)

If you have trouble getting to the Doodle poll, or using it, please contact Jane Love, Transportation Planner, at 912-651-1449 or at [email protected]
