With raspy vocals and quick picking, Charleston's Whiskey Diablo cranks out ham-bonin' songs for drinkin' and good-timin'. A hard-gigging four-piece comprised of Patrick Blake (vocals, guitar, kazoo), Brad Poplin (upright bass, vocals), Marshall Hudson (drums and harmonica, also of The Royal Tinfoil and Jordan Igoe's band), and Jonathan Depriest (fiddle), fans of Damon & the Shitkickers and The Train Wrecks won't be disappointed.

Let me just say: I once drove up to Charleston for a bachelorette party. During my two-hour drive, the bridesmaids and bride had been steadfastly primping and drinking champagne in their hotel. When our Savannah crew arrived, the gals were done up real nice, but, after a day of beachside celebrating, were a little tuckered in time for evening antics—that is, until we wandered into a bar where Whiskey Diablo was playing.

Bourbon was poured, and the evening ended with a country conga line out the door and a few pairs of shoes ditched for dancing purposes. I think they even let the bride-to-be hit a tambourine, or some percussive device. Everyone woke up with no voice and dirty soles. Cheers, fellas. Be it known: Whiskey Diablo can save your party.
