• An East 39th Street resident rents out an apartment over her garage. The current renter had her cousin over for a visit when the two began arguing. The cousin left. The owner “observed the cousin putting a lighter up to the garage door in an attempt to catch it on fire.” The owner told the cousin to leave, but the cousin “shouted an obscenity at her.” When the owner said she was calling police, the woman left in her car.

 

• A man was at a friend’s house when an acquaintance who also was at the house asked to use his car. The man told him “the car was his mother’s and that he could use it later.” The man had put the keys down and walked into the other room. The suspect took the keys and walked away.

• A couple got into an argument over “bill money.” The woman said the argument turned violent and that the man struck her in the face. The man said the woman had hit him. The officer observed a small scrape on the side of the man’s face, but was able to determine the man was the primary aggressor. There were no witnesses and both refused EMS. The man left for the night and both were given case report numbers and advised of the warrant procedure.

 

• Police responded to a report of a stolen car on East 32nd Street. The car’s owner said he had parked in front of his residence and went inside. When he returned, “he observed an unknown man jump in the vehicle and drive off.” Dispatch was advised to issue a look-out for the vehicle.
