A WELCOME addition to Starland’s ever-shifting arts community, the entity that is Sulfur Studios is young, but it’s certainly making its mark. As a collaborative art space in the former Homeless Authority building, Sulfur’s become a staple of Art March as viewers can sneak an illuminating peek into artists’ studio spaces and discuss and purchase work.
As a nonprofit community-driven space, Sulfur has united artists and musicians who embody the studio’s mission for an evening of fundraising and fellowship. All proceeds will go to Sulfur Studios.
Alex Raffray, frontman of Forced Entry, will perform his solo, acoustic work. Noisey just premiered the first taste of Jeff Zagers’ March 17 release, Still Alive, an entrancingly glitchy video for the album’s title track, directed by Merchandise’s Carson Cox; hopefully we’ll hear more of the new LP on Friday. Heavy instrumentalists Hot Plate and SAV hip-hop mainstays Dope Sandwich, with some special guests, round out the bill.
