"CNT’s investigation into Preiss began in December 2015 following information the convicted felon was said to be in possession of firearms and selling heroin. During the investigation, Preiss sold heroin and firearms to undercover CNT agents throughout Chatham County," CNT says.

"In all, two firearms were purchased from Preiss and one of the firearms was reported stolen in a burglary of a Chatham County home."

This arrest of Preiss marks his 16th booking in the Chatham County. Most of Preiss’ prior arrests are for misdemeanor related charges. Preiss was arrested in 2009 for Possession of a Concealed Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

CNT also collaborated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) during this investigation. CNT’s investigation into Preiss will be considered for federal prosecution by the United States Attorney’s Office.
